"Happy Dinner" is a short film exploring themes of grief, family, and personal transformation. Using the Kishotenketsu narrative structure, the story follows Ly Kieu Anh, a young woman grappling with the loss of her mother. Numbed by her pain, she pushes away the only remaining connection—her father. After an emotional confrontation, the father’s search for her ends tragically in an accident. A month later, Kieu Anh, now transformed, begins to understand the value of family and takes on the responsibility of cooking for her father, honoring his memory in her own way.
